Ellex Super Q Yag Laser

Aktis ophthalmological center (eye laser center) features Ellex Super Q Yag Laser evolved system for secondary cataract treatment. Months or even years after cataract surgery (ultrasound phacoemulsification and intraocular lens insertion), perhaps vision becomes blur again. This happens because posterior capsule, the area where intraocular lens is implanted, sometimes produces blurred cells that usually cause blurred vision. This clouding lens capsule is quite common and it is not considered as a cataract surgery complication (also known as pseudo-cataract). In such cases, a technique that lasts a few minutes, using a laser beam is preferred instead of surgery. Yag laser creates an opening in the center of the cloudy lens capsule. In many patients, vision recovery is immediate, while in others the vision gradually improves. With Ellex Super Q Yag laser system posterior capsulotomy laser procedure becomes easy, fast and painless.

Furthermore, Ellex Super Q yag laser advanced system is used for peripheral iridotomy procedure in closed-angle glaucoma cases. In fact, a small, peripheral hole (opening) is made in iris to establish communication between anterior and posterior chamber of the eye for facing closed-angle glaucoma. This preventive technique is also applied to narrow angle eyes in which glaucoma development risk is possible.
